Poster illustrates a government program designed to save wheat by declaring one day a week as a wheatless day. Britton's poster requests that viewers eat more corn, oats and rye - fish and poultry - fruits, vegetable and potatoes.  Viewers are called upon to eat less wheat, meat, sugar and fats to save for the army and our allies. World War I U.S. Food Administration posters advice still valid almost a century later. Britton's elegant style similar and surely influenced by the great poster artist Ludwig Hohlwein. 28x21 near mint conservation backed.
